Harry:
I've been trying to figure out the title of the Lightnin' Hopkins song with the lyrics

"You got me runnin' You got me hidin'
You got me runnin', hidin', hidin', runnin'
Baby what you wanna let it roll
Yeah, yeah, yeah
You got me doin' what you wanna
Tell me what you want me to do"

At least I think those are the correct lyrics. Tell me if I'm wrong, OK? Thanks, Dave Howard

Songs title is "Peepin And Hidin' ", written by Jimmy Reed. Thanks to Littljn99 for helping!

25

Who sings the song with refrain (doctor talking to patient who is the singer): "If you like it, don't do it, and if it feels good, better leave it alone"?

22

I have been searching endlessly to find out the singer of a song that was taped for me. Some of the lyrics are:

"I want to go where the train whistle blows...over there...you can cut off all my scales, send me to jail, I don't care..." and "he just swam around in that catfish pond just soaking up that warm mississippi sun..swam around all day long listenin' to that train whistle blow"

unknown

jchannell

21

"I sat around at night and cried and the tears rolled down my cheek"

Perhaps you can tell me the artist and song to which these lyrics belong

unknown

Laura Murray

20

Chorus goes like:
"Don't care how big you are
I don't care what you're worth
When it all ends up you got to go back to mother earth"
Do you know who does it and what it's called?

Songs title is "Mother Earth" probably by Chatman/Simpkins, Tab Benoit recorded it on his CD "These Blues are all Mine". Thanks to Kirk Haas for helping!

19

"If you don't like my fruit, why do you shake my tree?" and "If you don't like my potatoes, why do you dig me so deep?"

I suspect, the song you might be thinking of could be "Rollin' And Tumblin'" by Elmore James. Thanks to Atom Brain for helping!.

18

1st verse: "Next time you see me things won't be the same, yeaaaah
Next time you see me things won't be the same

Nobody, no no body but you
Nobody, no no body but you
Nobody can make me feel this blue

Dark train, Dark train, moaning through the night
Dark train, Dark train, moaning through the night
Whistle woke me up, then I saw the light

My pretty little angel,. she's comm'en about the break of dawn
My pretty little angel,. she's comm'en about the break of dawn
My pretty little angel' Said you done me wrong

Dark train, Dark train, moaning through the night
Dark train, Dark train, moaning through the night
Whistle woke me up, then I saw the light

Nobody, no no body but you
Nobody, no no body but you
Nobody can make me feel this blue

...by Muddy Waters, something like this..., "Don't think I don't love you just 'cause I stay out all night long"

The songs title is "Country Boy", written and performed by Muddy Waters. Thanks to KingOfBongo for helping!

"I came home last night, tired as I could be
And what did my weary eyes see?
Whose shoes are *those* shoes, under the bed,
What where my shoes oughta be?

My man say now dear, my sweet sweet dear, It is plain to see,
Those ain't nothing but your bedroom slipper, under the bed
What where your shoes oughta be

Now I been around this world, Lord many a time,
But I ain't never see
Bedroom slippers with high heels
What where my shoes oughta be"

She goes on with several other similar verses involving housecoat, and finally someone else's head on the pillow, (which her man tells her is nothing but a cabbage head), until she finally kicks him out.

It's a version of "Cabbage Head".

It's been recorded by Ruth Brown, Dr. John, Professor Longhair and many others. There are many different versions of this song, all with the same idea.

10

a song I thought was called "Little Bit". The first lines go something like:
"I don't want it all, I just want a little bit
I don't want it all, i just want a little bit
Just a eeny weenie bit, just a teeny weeny bit of your love" etc., etc., etc.

Songs title is "Just a Little Bit", written by Bass/Brown/Thornton/ Washington, performed by many.
Fenton Robinson does a fine version of it. Thanks to Anthony Albert Nassar & Kirk Haas for helping!

Kesondra

7

"Doctor, Lawyer, beggarman, punk, Don't you know there ain't no devil that's just God when he's drunk"

The song is possibly titled,"Heart Attack Time." The singer has a very rough voice. It's an old traditional blues style song.

The songs title is "Heart Attack and Vine", writen by Tom Waits, but recorded by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Thanks to Paul for helping!

6

(female Vocalist is), could be any of the greats, I would say the date is about 50's and the "Hook" is "You Are Mine At Last"

Songs title is "At Last," by Etta James. Thanks to Anthony Albert Nassar for helping!

5

"I've---------------------baby,
tryin to get back home to you
I got nothin' on my mind,
and I got no time to loose
I been away so dog gone long-baby,
I can't play nothin' but the blues

When I was just a child, I go ridin' in the car,
I didn't care how fast I was goin',
I didn't care how far
Now that I'm a full grown man,
I got nothin' on my mind"
